The Vespa GTS 300 is officially limited to 130 km/h (in practice it is usually 120 km/h), this is controlled by the ABS sensor ring and the ABS sensor which transmit the current speed to the engine management system.
By installing another ABS sensor ring with fewer gaps (the system counts the number of gaps that pass by on a full revolution of the wheel), the system “thinks” the speed is lower than it actually is. This causes the limiter to intervene later so that the top speed will be higher, count on plus minus 10km/h extra.
So no further modifications to the engine are required and assembly is simple (also easy to make original again should you wish). After installation, all you need to do is recalibrate the ABS system as explained in the scooter’s manual.
We have 2 variants for scooters with 12-inch wheels (the standard size wheels). The difference is in the number of openings; fewer openings ultimately gives a higher top speed.
The model with 12 inch Z = 42 is suitable for racing purposes, think race cylinder, cylinder head, camshaft.
The 12-inch Z = 44 is suitable for standart use.
In addition, there is a variant for scooters upgraded with 13-inch wheels.
