In the air filter housing, in addition to the air filter element, there is also this air filter just in front of the opening where the air hose connects. In other words, this filter is the last line of defense before the intake air enters the engine. So replace it with a clean one at a major service so that the engine stays clean and performs optimally. Remember to soak the filter in oil before installation, then carefully squeeze out the excess oil and only then install it.
